Content Moderation, Enforcement & Appeals Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026. Effective: 11 October 2026 for new users.

This policy is part of our Terms. If you had an account before this version was published, it applies to you from the date given in the email we send you about the new Terms (Terms, A15.1).

This policy explains how Tribue moderates content and accounts, how we explain our decisions, and how you can challenge them. It is part of the Tribue Terms and covers our duties under the EU Digital Services Act and the EU Platform-to-Business Regulation.

1. Contact points

Write to us in English. We are supervised by the Digital Services Coordinator in Cyprus.

2. Reporting illegal content

2.1 Anyone can report. You do not need an account. You can report a campaign brief, a submission, a profile, a message or any other content on Tribue that you believe is illegal.

2.2 How to report. Email legal@tribue.io with the subject "Illegal content notice". Include:

  • (a) why you believe the content is illegal;
  • (b) a link to it, or enough detail for us to find it;
  • (c) your name and email (reports of child sexual abuse material may be anonymous);
  • (d) a statement that you believe in good faith that the report is accurate and complete.

2.3 What happens next. We confirm receipt within 2 business days. A person reviews the report, and we aim to decide within 10 business days, sooner for urgent cases. We tell you our decision and how you can seek redress. If we act on the content, the person who posted it receives a statement of reasons (section 5).

2.4 Intellectual property. Report copyright or trademark infringement the same way. Identify the work infringed and your authority to act for the rights holder.

2.5 Threats to life or safety. If we learn of a possible criminal offence that threatens someone's life or safety, we inform the competent authorities.

3. Automated checks

Our automated checks follow fixed rules. No machine learning and no outside scoring service makes or influences these decisions.

3.1 Checks when you submit. We read the post's public details from the platform and refuse the submission at once, with the reason on screen, if:

  • (a) it was posted more than 30 minutes before you submitted it;
  • (b) its author is not the social account you verified on Tribue;
  • (c) it is shorter than the campaign's minimum duration, or on a platform the campaign does not accept;
  • (d) it was already submitted;
  • (e) the campaign belongs to your own workspace.

If a check cannot be completed, we do not refuse the submission. A person reviews it instead, even on a campaign that approves automatically.

3.2 Approval. The brand reviews submissions, or switches on automatic approval. Automatically and manually approved submissions are paid identically. On some budget models, a submission still pending when the budget is fully allocated may be approved automatically.

3.3 Automatic rejections. A pending submission is rejected automatically, with the reason shown on the submission, when:

  • (a) the campaign ends or is cancelled before it is reviewed;
  • (b) the campaign's budget is used up, or fully allocated to earlier submissions, before it can be approved or funded;
  • (c) it is on hold when the campaign's budget runs out; or
  • (d) the campaign ends before the content reaches the minimum views.

Approved submissions are paid in full when a campaign ends or is cancelled. Cancelling a campaign never strips earnings for approved work.

3.4 View checks. We monitor submissions for signs of fake views, such as very low engagement for the number of views, sudden spikes, or views removed by the platform. A signal alerts our team. It does not change the submission's status, earnings or payout date, and it is not a finding of fraud. Only a person can decide that there was fraud, and any action that follows comes with a statement of reasons.

3.5 Trust scores. We calculate reliability scores for creators and advertisers (Privacy Policy, 6.5). No approval, rejection, payout or ban depends on them. Before that changes, we will update this policy with at least 15 days' notice.

3.6 Limits on automation. No account is banned automatically. No submission is rejected because of a trust score. Money already paid is never clawed back.

4. Decisions by people

4.1 Brands. A brand's team reviews submissions to its own campaigns. It can:

  • approve or reject a pending submission;
  • put a pending submission on hold (it does not earn while on hold);
  • pause an approved submission by moving it back to pending.

Every rejection must carry a written reason. A brand cannot:

  • change a campaign's pricing once submissions exist;
  • rely on a requirement that is not in the brief;
  • reject a submission it has approved, even after pausing it. Only our team can, on the grounds in Terms B5.6.

4.2 Our team. We decide:

  • account suspensions, bans and reinstatements;
  • payout holds and their release;
  • device blocks;
  • removing campaigns or content after a report;
  • every complaint under section 6.

5. Statement of reasons

5.1 When you get one. You receive a statement of reasons whenever we or a brand, because of illegal content or a breach of our Terms:

  • remove, reject, hold or limit the visibility of your content;
  • hold, suspend or restrict a payment to you; or
  • suspend or terminate your account.

5.2 When and how. At the latest when the decision takes effect. Rejections are shown on the submission and sent as a notification. Bans, payout holds and content removals by Tribue are sent by email from support@tribue.io.

5.3 What it contains.

  • (a) the decision, its scope and its duration;
  • (b) the facts relied on;
  • (c) whether automated means were used to detect the issue or make the decision (section 3);
  • (d) the rule relied on: the clause of the Terms or Guidelines, or the law and why the content is illegal;
  • (e) how to complain (section 6) and your other options (section 7).

5.4 Exceptions. We do not give a statement where the law forbids it, or for deceptive high-volume commercial content. Where a statement would compromise a fraud or criminal investigation, we give it as soon as that reason ends.

6. Complaints and appeals

6.1 What you can complain about. Any decision in 5.1, and any decision not to act on your illegal-content report. Complaints are free.

6.2 Time limit. Complain within 6 months of being told about the decision.

6.3 How to complain. Email support@tribue.io with the subject "Complaint" and a link to the decision. Explain why it is wrong and attach any evidence, such as screen recordings of your analytics or proof of ownership. You can also raise it in the support channel on our Discord server, and we reply by email.

6.4 Who decides. A person decides every complaint, never automated means alone, where possible someone who did not make the original decision. For a brand's rejection, we check it against the brief as published when you submitted. If the brief does not justify the rejection, we re-approve the submission.

6.5 Timelines. We acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and decide within 14 days. We aim to decide a complaint about a payout hold within 7 days, so that the hold does not outlast the settlement cycle. If we need more information, we tell you what and why.

6.6 Outcomes. We either:

  • (a) uphold the decision and explain why;
  • (b) reverse it without undue delay, reinstating the content, submission or account, or releasing the hold; or
  • (c) replace it with a lesser measure.

A re-approved submission earns on its views from the payout cycle it re-enters. We tell you the outcome and your remaining options (section 7).

6.7 Misuse. If someone often sends manifestly unfounded reports or complaints, we may stop processing them for a reasonable period, after a warning.

7. Out-of-court dispute settlement and mediation

7.1 Certified dispute settlement bodies. If you are in the EU, the Digital Services Act lets you refer a decision under section 5 to an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified by a Digital Services Coordinator. The European Commission publishes the list. We engage in good faith with any certified body you choose. If it decides in your favour, we pay its fees and reimburse your reasonable costs. Using a body is optional and does not stop you going to court.

7.2 Mediation for business users. Business users may also try mediation with a mediator in the EU that we agree with them.

7.3 Courts. You can always go to court. The courts of Cyprus (Nicosia) have jurisdiction under the Tribue Terms. This does not affect any mandatory right to sue where you live.

8. Payout holds

8.1 What can hold a creator payout.

  • (a) a payout hold we place on your account, with a reason;
  • (b) an account ban, which holds payouts on every workspace you own;
  • (c) a brand putting a pending submission on hold. It earns nothing while on hold, and is rejected if the budget runs out first (3.3);
  • (d) reserve or verification requirements that Whop, our payment provider, sets on your Whop balance under its own terms.

8.2 Your protections.

  • A view-check signal never holds a payment.
  • A hold never takes back money already paid to you.
  • A brand's chargeback or refund never reduces money already paid to you.
  • A hold only affects amounts not yet paid out, while they are under review. Amounts validated for your other delivered work stay payable, even if your account is closed.

8.3 Contesting a hold. Use the complaint route in section 6. Holds are handled first. If the review does not find evidenced fraud in the held amounts, we release them and pay them on the next cycle. If it does, we withhold only the unrealised amounts that fraud produced, and send you a statement of reasons naming the evidence.

9. Repeat infringers

9.1 We ban accounts that repeatedly post illegal content, infringe intellectual property or manipulate views. A third upheld infringement within 12 months normally leads to termination. A single serious case, such as child sexual abuse material or proven organised view fraud, leads straight to termination.

9.2 We warn you before terminating your account, unless the case is serious or involves repeated fraud. For business users, termination of the whole account takes effect after 30 days' notice, with reasons, except in those cases.

9.3 Our team decides each step, with a statement of reasons. Opening a new account does not lift a ban. Opening one to evade a ban is itself a breach, and we ban that account too.

10. Ranking and changes

10.1 Ranking. How campaigns and applicants are ordered is explained in A8.7 of our Terms.

10.2 Changes. We give at least 15 days' notice of changes to this policy. Changes never apply to decisions already taken.
